What's wrong with this picture, Ethan's version

So I decided to do a part two of what's wrong with this picture because all these pictures fit so well with this title. Actually I got most of these pictures, with the exception of the first two, from following Ethan around for about 15 minutes. It's crazy how busy he is! Anyway, here it is. Enjoy!

What's wrong with this picture?

1. I told Jayden he could put a movie in that he wanted to watch. Um, it's probably not the best idea to let a 4 year old handle dvd's.
2. He chose to watch episodes of Mr. Bean, which are now becoming quite a popular choice. They are Chris'. Oh, man Chris, what are you doing to our boys!
3. Ethan decided to watch as well. He sat there for about 10 minutes, which is longer than he sits to watch anything. Now, I can understand disney, or pixar, or even Barney, but my goodness, Mr. Bean!....Wow!

What's wrong with this picture?

1. I assume this happened when the boys were cleaning their room today. I even told them to leave the door open so I could listen to what they were doing and so we didn't have any issues like last time.
2. I let Ethan go into their room while they were supposed to be cleaning. Like he is going to help the situation at all! I'm sure if they actually did clean with him in there he would just pull out everything they cleaned up.
3. I didn't notice this had happened until after I let the boys play at Mcdonalds house. I still don't know who is responsible. But I can only assume, as I'm sure all of you have done, that it was probably Jayden. Sorry Jayden, but if the shoe fits!

What's wrong with this picture?

1. Ethan has figured out how to climb into his high chair.
2. I left his tray off so he could climb into his high chair.
3. My child has learned how to climb way to early in his life!
What's wrong with this picture?

1. Again with the climbing thing.
2. He proceeds to climb onto the computer desk.
3. He then tries to dink around on the computer. This is a daily ritual that he tries to do. While I'm working on the computer at this moment, he is attempting to climb and check out what I'm doing.
4. This can't be good for the computer tower.
What's wrong with this picture?

1. I am a lazy butt and left the chairs there. They've been there since Sunday when my family came over for dinner.
2. He loves to play with the lights, turning them on and off.
3. Rather than turning on and off the fan, he chooses to leave it on constantly. When I turn it off, he turns it back on, which makes our living room pretty cold.
4. This can't help our power bill, which was close to $50 dollars last month. Maybe I'm just cheap, but when my gas bill is over $125 dollars, shouldn't the power bill be at least under $20? Give me a break!
Oh, how cute! What could be wrong with this picture you may be asking?

1. He is watching the Bonnie Hunt show. Um, yeah, something is wrong with my boys and the things they choose to watch! But I don't know, the button he is trying to push is the channel button, so maybe he's trying to change the channel. We'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.
2. I have a strange feeling that this picture is telling what he will be like in the future. When he's old and gray with a big pot belly that his shirt doesn't cover, sitting and watching the tv with remote in hand. Now if only he was laying down with his shirt higher up, and a can sitting on top! Hopefully, he chooses to watch something different. Now don't get me wrong, I like Bonnie Hunt, but it's not really a show for guys.
What's wrong with this picture?

Um, yeah, there would be several things wrong with this picture.
1. A 19 month old has scissors, and his mom is taking pictures instead of taking them away.
2. He has learned a wonderful example from his older brothers and is trying to follow it and finish the job.
3. He found the scissors in the boys room in their window seat. The reason I am assuming they cut his hair while they were "cleaning their room."
(Just so you all know, I was following him around, and was right there when he found them, thank goodness. Otherwise, I might have an extremely weird looking bald baby, or worse.)
4. The boys know they aren't supposed to touch my scissors in the first place!
What's wrong with this picture?

Um, okay, this picture is a little embarrassing, so if any men read this blog I apologize ahead of time.
1. Ethan went into my bathroom and immediately went to my feminine hygiene cupboard and pulled this out, then walked towards me holding it up for me to take.
2. I admit Ethan has seen me use these a couple of times, and he has learned that they are mine.
3. I guess he thinks I need to use it, and is being helpful.
What's wrong with this picture?

1. When Ethan is hungry he goes one of two places: his high chair, or the garbage can.
2. Apparently Chris and I have done a great job at raising a child that is expert in the ways of homelessness.
3. The garbage can is his best friend.
....And there you have it. Watch for more blogs of "what's wrong with this picture," because I am sure there are going to be many more to come!

I TAKE IT BACK!!!

Okay, so I completely take back the second to last statement I made in my last blog about poor people without boys. Consider yourself lucky, well, lucky that you don't have my wonderful two older boys. In a moment you'll we why I say this. But first, let me just say, that I love my boys to death, and would do anything in the world for them. They are my life, and they make me so happy....most of the time.

That being said, here is what took place yesterday at the wonderful Hall home.

I put the boys in their room and told them to clean it. I told them they couldn't come out until it was done. I was fine if they chose to play all day, at least they weren't annoying me, it was quiet, and they were getting along. I should have realized it was too quiet, and something was probably taking place that shouldn't have been. Whenever the boys are quiet and I can't hear them it's usually a good sign that they are doing something wrong.

So a little bit later I get a call from Casi next door, and she says, "I don't mean to pry, but I am outside shoveling and I just thought you might like to know that your boys are throwing toys out their window." So, yeah, you can imagine my reaction at that moment. I decided to hold off yelling at them until after I got off the phone. I went in their room and there were pretty much no toys left in the room. So being the mean mom that I am, I sent them right outside to clean them up, bare footed, in the freezing cold snow, and I wouldn't let them put shoes on. I was nice enough to suggest a hint to bring out a laundry basket to pile them into so it wouldn't take as long, and they wouldn't have to take several trips back and forth through the snow. The moment they stepped foot in the snow they started screaming bloody murder. Actually it wouldn't surprise me if you heard them, I'm pretty sure Ashley did, and I called Casi later and she laughed and said she could hear them. Thank goodness Katie said she didn't, so I can hopefully assume that the rest of the neighborhood more than one house away couldn't hear. So Ashley, if you could hear them, no I wasn't beating them, I promise.

Anyway, about 5 minutes in (yes, there were a ton of toys) I decided I didn't want them to get frost bite, so I got on some shoes and helped finish the rest. My fingers stung like crazy from picking them up out of the snow, so I can imagine what their feet felt like. Once we got inside, about 10 minutes later, I kind of got scared, and didn't want any issues to happen with their feet, so I put some warm water in the tub and told them to put their feet in it. Then afterwards, the next about 30 minutes they spent putting the toys away. Brendon kept coming out while they were cleaning up and saying, "mom I feel really bad that I did that, I am sorry.... Mom, I'm sorry I did that.... Mom, I won't ever do that again." Well, I guess, hopefully, they learned their lesson, or at least Brendon did. Jayden later told me that they threw them out the window because they wanted to play with Gavin faster. (They had been asking me all day to play with him, but I told them they had to clean their room first) Apparently in their little minds it was faster to just throw them out the window, than to put them into bins on a shelf....Whatever!!

Sorry, no I didn't take any pictures. I thought about it while it was going on, but thought if I was out there taking pictures of my boys while they sounded like they were dying from torture, that someone would probably call the police on me for neglect.

Again, let me just say, that I love my boys to death, and would do anything in the world for them. They are my life, and they make me so happy. And now I am announcing that they are now for sale, but just the older two. Anyone that would like to purchase them, we are having a "stress bailout" 75% off sale all this week. This is a great chance to get a good deal on an opportunity to try your patience.

All sales are final. Items are sold as is. No warranties. No refunds accepted.

Catching Up

Well, I've been kind of a slacker lately and haven't really felt like blogging the past few weeks, but I guess today I am a little more in the mood and have some time, so I'll try to play catch up a little bit about what we've been up to lately.

First, just a little announcement (since Brittany insisted I blog about this), we finally got our car paid off on Christmas Eve. For those of you that don't know, this is a HUGE deal for Chris and me. We had a goal at the beginning of last year to get it paid off by the end of the year, and, to tell you the truth, I didn't really know if we would be able to do it. As of the beginning of January 2008 we owed $11,380 on the car. We had to put a lot of extra things on hold to be able to do it. Because of the blessing of Chris having as much over time as he did last year, we finally paid off the last bit a week before our goal date. Chris worked extremely hard last year, and we were extremely blessed by the Lord! Many weeks he worked 6 out of the seven days about 10 hours a day. That is a lot! But we both had the goal to be debt free, with the exception of our house, of course. I just want to thank Chris for his hard work, and his patience with me in begging him to work overtime. It paid off. I love you Chris! You're awesome!! xoxoxo

Next, the day after Christmas my family decided to pull out the tractor and a plastic tarp and take the kids for a ride. This was something my family did a bit growing up. My dad would pull us around on a plastic tarp with his tractor. Occasionally he would take us around the neighborhood. It was a blast, and were such fun memories! So we decided to do it for Brendon and Jayden. We would have had Ethan join also, but sadly he had to take a nap. My sister, Laura, and my cousins Heidi and Shanae also joined in the fun. My brother, Jason, joined in after I put the camera away. Sorry, Jason, you aren't pictured. After taking the pictures it looked so fun that I had to join in. I'm sure my mom and Aunt Dianne watching had a good laugh watching me behave like a child, but it was a blast. We had competitions to see who could stand longest, and wrestling matches trying to push one another off. I still have bruises on my hips from losing my balance and falling down, but it was so worth it! Good times!

Here are some pictures. Brendon is in the orange coat, and Jayden is in the dark blue one.

This is a picture of Brendon when he was getting ready to go outside. He accidentally put on Ethan's winter stuff and came out to me complaining that his pants don't fit him anymore. It was hilarious! When we all started laughing he ran into a bedroom and hid from embarrassment. I had to bribe him to get this picture.

And, finally, just another little tid bit of information. Last night we were all just hanging out in our living room, and the boys (meaning Brendon and Jayden) decided to strip down to their underwear and wrestle. This is a very common occurrence around our house, in case you didn't know. For some reason my boys love being in their underwear, and Chris is no exception, weirdos! Chris and I sat on the couch and had some good chuckles as they were going at it. Then Chris piped up and decided to tell them to wrestle naked like the Greeks used to do. I immediately said, "no, sorry, you can't do that there is a girl in the room, and it's not appropriate for you to wrestle naked in front of girls." Brendon then asked, "why, because you can't see our butts?" I then said, "okay, yeah, that's why." Then Jayden, being the smart alek he is, smiled at me, turned around, and then mooned me!!! Can you believe it! Well, I guess if you know Jayden, you probably can. Then Brendon followed his wonderful example and joined in. They continued to pull their underwear up and down showing me their cute little butts for the next couple of minutes. I had to turn my head to keep from laughing and egging them on, and of course, Chris flat out lost it, and had absolutely no interest in hiding it from the boys. I will admit it was pretty darn funny. The innocence of youth! We eventually had to put a stop to it when things escalated and they began running around our island with their underwear around their ankles. Oh, you poor people without boys, you don't know what your missing! May God please someday bless me with a sweet little girl!
