Yet another tag... 8 random facts about me

I was tagged by my sister in law to post 8 random facts about me. So here you go:

1. I get so sick of my boys fighting throughout the day, that I often send them outside to duke it out. So if you hear them fighting outside, and I'm not getting involved, don't judge, I'm just picking my battles.

2. I have never sung in the shower. So it's kind of weird that I ended up with an amazing opera voice. I can sing the national anthem better than any opera singer out there. Just ask my family!

3. I consider myself a tom-boy. It's not my fault. I was raised in the middle of 3 brothers. I kind of had no choice if I wanted to fit in. My poor mother tried so hard to get me to be her cute "little princess" wearing dresses and playing with barbies and dolls. To this day, I dread Sundays and weddings because I know I will have to sit in my closet for a half an hour trying to decide which dress to wear. Sorry mom, you failed.

4. I don't consider myself an outgoing people person. Sorry, if I don't know you well, or at all, the most you can really expect out of me that is in my comfort zone, is a smile and a hello. Don't be offended, I guess it's something I need to work on.

5. I am scared of the dark, and often sleep with my lamp on. Yes, I will admit it, but people who know the reason why completely understand.

6. I love Walmart. I am probably one of Walmarts most loyal customers. I am one of those people that doesn't care about the rumors about Walmart, and how they treat there employees or whatever. If I can save 10-20 dollars in a shopping trip there, opposed to going somewhere else, I am all for it. Yes, I am a cheapo!! Besides, every time I go there they all seem happier than in any other store. I am always greeted with a pleasant, "hello, welcome to Walmart." You definitely don't hear that every time you go to Target or Smiths. Either the rumors are the press needing a stupid story, or they are the best actors in Utah.

7. I hate Walmart! Too often I have to avoid an isle because there is already 10 people in the isle and there is no way I am going to ever get through. Plus people look at you like you are crazy if you think they are going to move their cart out of the middle of the isle so you can get through. What's worse, is most of the time the isle happens to be the tampon isle and it happens to be that time of the month, so I can't just decide to get what I need another day.

8. I hate flying! Which is ironic considering I married an aircraft mechanic who basically lives for flying. I don't know what it is. But from take off to landing I am the stiffest person in the world. My stomach is in knots, and my heart burns. And it's not a fear I have any desire to get over. I am fine just staying where I am, or driving to where I need to go. Sorry Chris, you married the wrong person in this department!

So there you have it. I hope you have all been enlightened. Now at this point I would tag other people, but since nobody followed through on the last tag, (you lazy people!) well, I will leave it at that. Unless Brittany and Jana want to do it. Since you had already done the last tag, and you are the only ones that seem to be cool enough to do them!

24th of July Fun

For the 24th we basically just went to my parents house to hang out for the day, and have dinner together for my dad's birthday. We only had half the family there. My sister was gone to EFY and my brother and his wife were gone on a trip. We were watching their two kids. So we brought swimming suits for the kids to play in, but with the help of my creative brother, and my dad that loves to hang onto what some would call junk, it turned into a water fun fest for everyone.
My brother had the idea to get out some plastic my dad had laying around, and turned it into a waterslide. It worked really well, mostly because it went down a hill, so you could get some pretty good speed. After a while the whole family joined in and had a blast.

Chris and I slid Ethan down the slide. In this picture he is sliding into a puddle at the end of the slide. This picture makes him look like he's drowning, but the water was not as deep as it looks. He had a blast playing in it.

Chris- Check out that tan line. Very nice!

Me- I didn't plan on doing any water stuff, but Chris talked me into it. So I borrowed a tee shirt and shorts. It was a lot of fun, even though I felt like a retard.

My dad- Happy 50th Birthday!!

The boys decided to give my mom a little boost down the water slide. She was kind of timid about going the first time. She was such a good sport.

Brendon and my very cute, very single brother, Jason

Brendon's cousin Audrey loves to dress him up in her play wardrobe.
I really want a girl, but I'll pass on this one.

Ethan

This is my parents old dog house. Ethan thought it looked fun to explore.

Ethan's first head wound

My parents just got a new pad for the trampoline. The boys jumped on it with a sprinkler underneath for the first time, and loved it. This definitely brought back memories of my childhood. We did this all the time.

Then we had some flipping fun!

Brendon- I didn't even know he knew how to do a flip.

Jayden- He tried but every one turned into a hand spring. But he looked great doing them!

Me- whoopie! Go me!

Bonding Brothers.... as long as their sleeping

Last night I went in to tuck the boys in after they had fallen asleep and found that Brendon had crawled in bed with Jayden. They were sharing the same blanket and practically sleeping on top of each other. It looked really cute. With all the fighting they do all day, every day, it's nice to see they bond once in a while in a positive way. Of course, later that night when one of them woke up it wasn't that cute. Jayden came in to my room crying, and telling me that Brendon took his blanket and pillow. I wasn't very happy about being woken up with whining, so I just got mad. I guess I probably should have put Brendon back in his bed before I went to bed.

Break dancing boys

Brendon loves to break dance. Don't ask me where he learned it, but he does it all the time. Well, today I guess Ethan decided to follow after his big brother. You can call this "baby break dancing." It was so cute to watch them both. Ethan was so proud of himself. He was all smiles and grins while I was taking pictures. Jayden would have been right there with them, but he was busy playing the computer. I guess someday I will have to sign them up for break dancing classes.

Brendon calls this move "the Jack."

I guess we're regressing

I walked into the boys room last night after they fell asleep to put their sheets back on them, and to my surprise this is the scene I found.

I thought we were past this stage. Brendon loved binkys when he was little, but we took them away when he turned one. I guess he still has this inner desire to suck that was revealed last night. Chris and I had a good laugh about it. I guess we have to start hiding Ethan's binkys.

Survey of the week

I decided it would be fun to do a survey each week on different topics that come up. So feel free to include your opinion by voting. Sorry, no, you can't be like my sister who voted 100 times for David Archuletta to win, please only vote once.

PICTURE TAG

Okay, so I finally got tagged with the picture thing by Chris' sister-in-law. I thought since it had pretty much made it's way around that I wouldn't have to worry about it. Just so you all know today is the first day since our vacation that I have had a moment to clean my house, and I thought to myself, "I'll clean up after I check a few blogs." I thought it would probably be cheating to clean before I did this tag, so just disregard the look of my kitchen sink because we haven't done dishes since we left on vacation and they piled up yesterday with Sunday dinner. So in my defense, had I decided to clean before I looked at blogs, my sink would be *sparkly* clean!!! And, of course, since I am taking time now to do this tag, my house will have to wait a little bit longer to get a much needed cleaning. Hopefully I can get things done before Chris comes home from work and wonders what I've been doing all day.
These are the "rules" for the tag:
Take pictures of the following things just as they are, with no stopping to clean, straighten, or to wipe a child's nose: the kitchen sink, the fridge, the toilet, the closet, the laundry room, your favorite shoes, your favorite room, and your kids.

Anyway, here it goes:

My kitchen sink: After explaining myself, no, I'm not embarrassed one bit!

My Fridge, it's probably just as boring as everyone else's

My toilet: Sorry, but the rules didn't say the seat had to be up. So you'll just have to imagine what it looks like underneath.
NOTE: BRITTANY, JANA, KATIE, & KRISTY- You should all be proud of me. I have removed the seat cover and the floor mat around the toilet since I guess germs collect on them more according to what somebody said on tv. So now if you ever have to use my toilet, it should comfort you to know that it is "germ free" !?!?!? LOL!

My closet: With the exception of the big pile of shoes we just throw in there when we're done wearing them, I'd say it looks pretty good.

My laundry room: Luckily I finished all of our laundry this morning

My favorite shoes: My basketball shoes, I live for any chance I have to get out and play ball.

My favorite room: Mainly because I get to sit and veg in front of the tv.
Brendon is following me around with the camera case while I take these pictures
Jayden is sitting in the computer chair, feeling extra special because I am taking his picture.
Ethan is taking a nap. Kids are so much cuter when they are asleep, don't you all agree!!!
Well, there you go. I looked through other people's blogs so that I don't tag someone that has already been tagged with this. So I am now going to tag:
Katie McKay
Lindsey Boynton
Jen Neumann
Kristy Horne
Camille Hood- (if you have time with the new baby)
Ashley Dewaal- dido on the above parentheses
And anyone else that wants to do it, or do it again.
Have fun!

OUR VACATION

Jayden, Audrey (Cousin), Aunt Laura, Brendon

CUTE!!!!

This year we decided to go cheap and stay in state for our vacation. We are planning on doing Disneyland next year, so we did something small this year. On Monday we took the boys to Lagoon. We also went with my family. We realized that Brendon is tall enough to ride wicked, so we got him in line, making sure he couldn't see what ride we were going to ride. We got on, and once the ride started going I turned to Brendon and said " get ready we are going to blast off like a rocket." He started to laugh and was so excited. Then we took off up that straight up and down part, his laugh quickly turned into a horrified look and then crying. I laughed so hard. It was really funny, we are such awful parents! Sometimes you just have to make your children do things they don't want to do. He wouldn't go near the ride the rest of the day.

We had a blast, up until about 7:00 pm when Jayden decided to stick with the Lagoon family tradition this year, and get sick. He spent the rest of the night throwing up. I hoped that whole night that this was just from the rides and it would pass quickly. This wasn't the case.

The next day we traveled to Flaming Gorge. Jayden threw up about 3 or 4 times in a bowl in the car. We had to pull over and wash it out. It took us about 5 hours to get there because of all the stopping. Plus we had to listen to him cry and whine about his tummy the whole ride down. It was heaven when we finally got there.
Ethan had diarrhea pretty badly the whole day, and ended up throwing up himself that night. His runs continued through the whole week, but luckily the throwing up stopped.

Wednesday

THE VERNAL TEMPLE

Wednesday Jayden was still pretty sick. So in the morning everyone but Jayden and me went to the Flaming Gorge dam and did a tour there. They said it was pretty cool, but I think the best part would be that it was free, you don't find many free things anymore. Jayden and I spent the time watching An American Tail.

Later that day, Jayden felt a little better, so we all took a trip to Vernal to see the Dinosaur Land area. We went to the Smith Field House of Natural History museum. First they sent us in to watch a movie, and can you say BORING! I thought it would be more for kids, since it's mainly kids into the dinosaur thing, but it was about a bunch of scientists and their fossil findings. I even had a hard time following what they were doing and talking about. The boys were pretty disappointed, Brendon said during the video, "hey, where are all the dinosaurs?" I was thinking the same thing. They definitely need to fix that.

The boys did like the rest of the museum though. They had a play area for kids that they spent most of the time in doing puzzles and playing with toy dinosaurs. Then we headed outside where they had statues of dinosaurs in a garden area. And that was pretty much it. I remember Dinosaur land being so much cooler as a kid. I was pretty disappointed, hopefully the boys didn't feel the same way.

After the museum we took the boys to see the Vernal Temple. At this point I wasn't feeling very good myself, and I just wanted to get out of there, and go back to the condo. So, I am sorry to say this, but the temple wasn't that great of an experience for me.

That night I spent the whole night practically in the bathroom. It stunk!

Thursday

We didn't even have to set our alarm this morning because we woke up to the sound of "MOO" outside. When Jayden woke up he looked out the window and yelled "whoa, mom, look at all the cows. I didn't realize how close they were to our condo. No wonder they were so loud.

BRENDON AND AUDREY

ETHAN AND MY SISTER, LAURA

On Thursday we rented a boat and went boating at Flaming Gorge. Thankfully, I was feeling a lot better by morning, but unfortunately my parents and Grandparents were sick and didn't get to come with. It was pretty sad, because we considered today to be the climax of the whole trip. Instead they stayed at the condo and barfed all day.

We were hoping to be able to pull a tube with the boat, but the company we rented the boat from said that we couldn't pull a tube with it. So we just did some wake boarding, and cruised around. The boys spent a lot of time on the beach playing with sand toys.

The first time I got in the water to wake board Brendon and Jayden had a cow. They were scared to death that I couldn't swim and was going to drown. It was pretty funny. Towards the end of the day we got bored of wake boarding and decided to jump off the boat into the water while it was moving. We learned later that this is illegal, oops. Anyway, when I jumped in the first time I made the mistake of jumping in head first and face planted in the water. My nose still hurts from it! I'll never make that mistake again, at least I didn't belly flop though!
This day turned out to be a lot of fun, despite the sick people and no tube. We will definitely have to do it again sometime.
Thursday night my brother and his two kids got sick. So in all 13 out of 16 people ended up sick during this wonderful vacation. What poor timing. Chris and Brendon were among the 3 that didn't get sick. I'm hoping that they don't end up with the same fate as the rest of us, especially Chris, because he used all his time at work for this vacation.
Friday as we traveled we had to make some stops because of the throwing up going on in the car. However, we managed to make it home in about 4 hours.
Much better timing than the 5 it took to get there.
