Chris' new, improved, and action-packed, with explosions, blog (The explosions will come later)

Chris has gotten comments from some people about not really being interested in his plane stuff he's posted on his blog. So with some persuassion from me, he decided to post about things that would interest other people that read it. I told him to post more about things that happen to him, or things that he finds interesting or entertaining. So hopefully he will continue to listen to my wise advice. Check his new blog out and enjoy!

P.S. The title was in Chris' words

Having some fun at the fire station

Chris' brother, Scott

Chris' sister, Becca and Brendon

A couple of weeks ago ours and Chris' family went to the West Valley Fire Station where Chris' brother, Scott, works as a fireman. It was pretty cool. The boys were both able to sit in the stations fire engine. That's something not very many people get to do. They really enjoyed it. A few minutes after we got there, when the boys were sitting in the truck, the fireman on duty received a call for a house fire. The boys had to hurry and get out of the truck, and we all got to watch the firemen get ready to go. It was a fun experience. From the time they got the call, to the time they pulled out of the station it was about a minute. So they were pretty quick in their response time. The boys thought it was pretty neat to watch them get their equipment on and see them drive away with their siren on.

After that little adventure they got to see inside an ambulance, and inside the firestation. They have some pretty nice things like individual recliners, decked out treadmill, and bike, big screen tv, a pretty fancy kitchen, and a fuseball table in their breakroom. I guess with the hours and schedules they have I would want nice things to keep me entertained as well.

It was a fun night out for all of us. The boys are now saying that they want to be a fireman like Uncle Scott when they grow up.

What ever happened to common sense?

Once again I am posting about a news report I heard a few nights ago on KSL. I am not going to make a habit of it, but I just couldn't pass up not posting about this one. And once again, there is a commercial before the story comes on.

I have no idea how Lori, the newscaster kept a straight face without losing it on tv. Hopefully this story doesn't reach the national level. Us Utahn's would all look like a bunch of ridiculous stupid heads! And if it does, hopefully others won't judge us by our worst specimens.

To my friends and neighbors

Okay, so I know pretty much everyone that reads this post have all read the Twighlight books, or are now reading them, and I have gotten the vibe that you may think that because I am not reading them that I am against them. Let me clarify that I am not against people reading the Twighlight series in any way. I love to read, and I think it's good for us moms to be able to read books that don't rhyme or have the name Dr. Seuss written on the front. So kudos to you that do read, I think it's great.

Now let me explain why I haven't gotten into the whole Twighlight thing.

This past little while I have felt that I am not spending enough time individually with my boys. I have noticed them doing little things here and there to get my attention, and they have been a lot more whinny. It's been a struggle trying to balance everything and spend quality time with all four boys, plus finding time to spend for myself. (Yes, I am including Chris in this number, because I have heard most of you refer to him as such many times, and I couldn't agree more with you!) Brendon and Jayden are constantly fighting, and whinning, and driving me crazy! I think the three boys thing is really starting to take a on me toll a little bit. I have just felt worn out most days. I feel like I am always yelling. At the end of the day I feel like the worst mom in the world because of the way I've treated them and reacted to things. The only spare moment I have to myself is after about 10:00, when they've all finally gone to sleep. I try and take this time to "boost my morale," by reading my scriptures, or something else spiritually uplifting so I don't feel like such a bad person. I then feel the spirit come back into my life, because it certainly left from all the yelling I did during the day. I feel rejuvinated. I really don't think I would be able to do it all again the next day without that extra boost.

I admire every one of you moms that are my good friends out there. You always seem to have it together, and can do it all. So going back to the spending time with the kids thing, I'm not saying at all that those that have read the books or are reading the books are not spending enough time with your kids. You are all good enough moms to know that if your child needed more attention, you wouldn't let other things get in the way. I just know that for me, my boys are trying to tell me something, and I need to listen before they decide my attention isn't worth it.

Oh, and please don't feel like you can't talk about the books with each other when I'm with you guys. I don't mind hearing about them. Since I don't feel I have the time to read them, it wouldn't hurt to hear what they're all about. I would even love seeing the movie. I'm not one that thinks you have to read a book before you see the movie. I never read Lord of the Rings, or the Chronicle series, and I loved the movies. Plus I get a chance to get away for a couple of hours.

Brendon's First Day Of Kindergarten

Monday was Brendon's first day of Kindergarten, I can't believe how the years have flown by. It was a long wait for him this summer. Some days he was very excited, and others he didn't really like the idea. Most of the time, though, he was excited. I have to admit that I was extremely excited. They boys have been fighting a lot more lately, and it has become very annoying! So three hours of peace in our home each day has been wonderful. And it's amazing what I have been able to get done. On Monday in three hours I was able to work out on the treadmill, do the dishes, finish the wash, clean the kitchen, do the bills, and hang out with Jayden. Most days it takes me all day to do these things, because I am constantly playing referee, or entertaining. It's wonderful!

He loves Mrs. Jessee, his teacher, and he likes having a few friends in his class to play with. The only thing he complained about is that he doesn't get to play as much. I just told him, well dear, sorry you're getting into real school now, where you learn more than you play, it's a little bit different from preschool. He'll adjust just fine, I'm sure.

LOOK MOM, I BUTTONED MY BUTTONS!!

Jayden is still learning the buttoning thing on his shirts. Today he got himself dressed and walked into my room with the proudest look on his face and said "Look Mom, I buttoned my buttons all by myself!" So of course, trying to be a good mom I said, "Jayden you did such a good job!" A few seconds later, after I took the picture, he said in a concerned voice, "but mom, one button is missing at the bottom." I couldn't help but chuckle a little. How cute is that! I then explained to him what went wrong. At least he attempted to do it himself!

How DUMB is this!

I don't know how many of you caught the news late last night, but they had a pretty interesting story they told. This was by John Hollenhorst.
-There is an advertisement before it gets into the story, so be patient.-

I got a kick out of this story, and couldn't help but laugh. So I guess we should all get water rights so it is legal to play in a puddle of water in our yard. After all, it was stored on our property, and we have no legal right to do that. Maybe we should also get a water right to even allow the water from rain to water our yards. How idiotic! Does anyone else find this extremely STUPID!!!!
